In a shocking and electrifying moment, “The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes made his triumphant return to WWE television at Saturday Night’s Main Event (SNME), saving Jey Uso from a controversial loss and setting the stage for a blockbuster tag team match at Money in the Bank.
During the main event, Jey Uso defended his World Heavyweight Championship against Logan Paul in what was an intensely competitive showdown. However, chaos erupted when John Cena interfered, pulling the referee out of the ring just as Uso appeared to have the match won.
Just as fans feared Cena would cost Uso the title, Cody Rhodes stormed the arena to a thunderous ovation. Rhodes attacked Cena with a Cross Rhodes at ringside, allowing the referee to return and count the pinfall after Uso hit a decisive spear and splash on Paul.
Cody Speaks, Challenge Issued
Following the emotional save, Rhodes took to the microphone and addressed the WWE Universe:
“I’m back. And I’m not just here to stop the nonsense — I’m here to finish what I started. Cena, Logan… at Money in the Bank, it’s me and Jey Uso vs. the two of you. Let’s see what you’ve really got.”
This marks Rhodes’ first appearance since his controversial WrestleMania 41 loss to John Cena, where Cena, aided by Travis Scott, captured his record-breaking 17th world title — an ending that many fans and pundits called one of the most controversial in WrestleMania history.
What’s Next?
With Rhodes now firmly back in the picture and tensions boiling between all four superstars, the WWE Universe eagerly awaits Money in the Bank, where this explosive tag team clash could shift the balance of power in WWE’s main event scene.
